St. Patrick’s Day is the kind of holiday for everyone. No one is left out of the festivities, whether they are looking for a big group romp through the best bars of the area or a quiet and relaxed get-together on the beach with some close friends. The 8th Annual Irish Celtic Festival & Lucky Dog Parade
March 9th – takes place at Greenbrook Adventure Park off SR70 in Lakewood Ranch. With entertainment stages, the Lucky Dog Parade, traditional food, a pot ‘o gold scavenger hunt, Dancers, Bands, Guys can enter the very popular ‘BEST LEGS IN A KILT’ Contest, and more. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day: “Main Street Live!”
March 16th – It takes place on Historic Old Main Street in Bradenton from 5 p.m. – 12 a.m. The event features live music, foo, and beverage vendors and more.There is no charge or age limit to attend, but you must be at least 21 to get into the bars. Street closes to traffic at about 3 p.m.
Lucky Leprechaun 5K
March 16th – Nathan Benderson Park, 4 PM-8 PM. This is a fun run for the entire family. Kid’s Rainbow Dash starts at 4 PM and the 5 K begins at 6 PM. The after race party 6:30 PM-8 PM. The after party will have Irish music, food, drinks, and games. If you have never been to a 5K at Nathan Benderson Park, it is a nice running track and it is a timed race. The after party is fun and the food is good too! Not sure why, but a cold beer after a run is the best!
Shamrock Pub hosts its 10th annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party
March 17th – inside and outside under the tent. The pub opens at 9 a.m. and music at the alley stage starts at noon. A complete menu of authentic Irish corned beef and Irish inspired festival creations like Irish Nachos. Irish, craft and popular beers. Enjoy Authentic Irish music, dancers, pipers and inspired performances by some of the area’s best local bands. No cover charge. Benefits the Sarasota Family YMCA Youth Shelter. 9 a.m. – midnight.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Lynches Pub & Grub
March 17th – Open at 10 a.m., there will be live entertainment all day from noon – 9 p.m. featuring the Jacobites plus great food and green beer.
Clancy’s 17th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bash
March 17th – Traditional Irish style food like corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie and more will be served plus beer, drinks, bagpipers and live music from multiple bands all day. Live music all day and night. Begins at 12 p.m. 6218 Cortez Road W., Bradenton.
St. Patrick’s Day festivities under a festival-sized tent
March 17th – Featuring: Irish Sing-a-Longs and Jigs all day, the Irish Dance Academy of Sarasota, the Seamus McCarthy Band, Bagpipes, the Curry Creek Cloggers plus Green Beer, Reubans, Irish Stew, Corned Beef Dinners and more in the restaurant, which opens at 11 a.m. Bar and a limited menu available outside. $5 admission fee, first come-first served seating. 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the parking lot. The party moves inside at 10 p.m. British Open Pub, 367 Jacaranda Blvd., Venice.
